MNO Recap and What's Next

Despite the rain, ten Mom's made it out to Indulge this past Wednesday for some delicious wine and food pairings. We had a room to ourselves and enjoyed such dishes as sea bass and steak oscar. The wine was amazing. Holy moly, that rose and ice wine was to die for! I am pretty sure that everyone had a fantastic evening- even the two troopers who couldn't even have any wine! I neglected to take any photos of the event, and I don't think anyone else did, either. If you have any photos to share, pass them along!

Our next event is one for the kiddos. Following SS class on Saturday, we will be getting the kids digital finger prints taken for a national database for identity detection. While we don't want to think about our kids going missing, it is good to be prepared. In the event of an Amber alert, having your child's finger prints in the database can help bring him/her home! If this is something that you're interested in, please let us know asap! If you cannot make the event, we can also give you information to have this done in your own home, free of charge.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Zoo Trip Recap

We had a fantastic time at the zoo. The highlights of the trip were definitely the primates- the orangutan, gorillas, and several adorable monkeys. We also saw a Sea Lion show, some reptiles, and pink flamingos! Click on the images to enlarge.

This monkey was very interested in the contents of Cody's Easter egg!

See that squirrel up there? He shopped every stroller for a snack and then snatched a half of a PB&J and carried it up on this fence for a snack. Apparently, the stroller parking outside of the reptile room has become his personal buffet!

Introducing: Wacky Wednesdays!

Starting on June 8! Mark your calendars now! Every Wednesday after June 8, we will have a play date at the Highland Heritage Park at 10:15am (conveniently, after SS). I need some volunteers for each day to bring snacks. Email me at colunamom@yahoo.com or comment within this post.

June 8: Father's Day Finger Painting
Please bring a white baby onesie or t-shirt and a "Dad-sized" white T-shirt. You can even bring a white tool belt (available for cheap at Home Depot). Using tiny fingers and toes, we will create some Father's Day masterpieces to surprise to the Daddy's (even Grandpas) in our lives! Make sure that your kiddos wear clothing that you do not mind to get very, very messy.

June 15: Book Exchange
Bring at least 2 books to exchange- one for another mom, one for another kiddo. We will pick some books to read aloud and the kids will decide what they'd like to share or take home. Leftover books will be donated to charity.

June 22: Scavenger Hunt
Ahoy! You will be paired up and provided a list of items to find in the park! The team who finds the most wins! Bonus points for babies dressed up as pirates!

June 29: BUBBLES
Is there anything more fun than bubbles!? We will experiment with making bubbles of all kinds.

Ok, Ok, Lets try Wednesday for the Zoo!

Wednesday at 1pm! If the weather plays any tricks on us, we'll head over to the Aquarium instead.

Also, the group prices are only effective if we get 10 adult tickets. Its kinda looking like we may be a bit short. So, plan on the regular prices for now. In the event that we do have 10 adults, bring a check or cash, as they told me that they'd like for us to pay with one transaction.

Lets go to the Zoo!

The sun is shining and the weather seems great for now! See you ladies at the zoo!

Zoo Update and (brief) Mani/Pedi recap

So, tomorrow calls for a high of 53 with isolated thunderstorms. This is no good. I will make a decision by noon Monday and post to the blog and facebook if the Zoo trip will be postponed. If postponed, we'll go on Wednesday at 1pm. Either way, we will see those monkeys, gosh darn!

And, last Wednesday we had a great time sipping sparkling wine and munching on cheese, fruit, and chocolate while getting pampered at the nail salon. In attendance was Amanda, Jenny, Lauren, Sarah and Holly. We had a great time! Hopefully we will post some photos, soon!
